Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Shift Leader to oversee bar operations during scheduled shifts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a solid background in food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. The Bar Shift Leader will be instrumental in maintaining smooth daily operations, supervising staff, and delivering memorable experiences to our guests.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate bar staff during shifts to ensure efficient service delivery.
Oversee food preparation and ensure all beverages are prepared according to company standards.
Assist with cooking and food production when necessary, maintaining high culinary standards.
Monitor the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Serve customers promptly and courteously, addressing any concerns or special requests.
Manage stock levels, place orders for supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
Enforce health and safety policies, including food safety procedures and hygiene standards.
Train new team members on service protocols, safety procedures, and company policies.
Handle cash transactions accurately and reconcile daily takings.
Support the management team in implementing promotional activities or events.

Skills

Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments, particularly within bars or similar settings.
Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Familiarity with food production processes and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods while maintaining high service standards.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good communication skills to effectively lead staff and interact with guests.
Experience in serving beverages, including cocktails or specialised drinks, is desirable.
Knowledge of hospitality industry practices including hotel or barista experience is advantageous.
