Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to oversee our Café, Butchers & Farm Shop. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production, customer service, managing staff and processes and food safety, with the ability to manage daily operations efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in a dynamic environment, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the smooth running of all aspects of the shop, from food preparation to customer service, whilst upholding health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the Café, Butchers & Farm Shop, ensuring all departments run smoothly and efficiently
Oversee food preparation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation guidelines
Supervise butchery activities, including meat cutting, trimming, and packaging in compliance with food safety standards
Coordinate stock levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain inventory without excess
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed across all areas of the site
Lead and motivate staff, providing training on food production techniques and customer service excellence
Maintain a welcoming environment for customers whilst managing complaints or queries professionally
Organise schedules for staff rotas to optimise coverage during operating hours
Monitor financial performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement in sales and efficiency
Uphold environmental sustainability practices within the shop’s operations

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production, or restaurant management
Strong background in butchery and food preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within retail or hospitality settings
Previous experience managing a team within a busy environment such as a café or farm shop is desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills to liaise with staff and customers confidently
A recognised qualification in catering, hospitality or a related field would be advantageous
