Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall success of our operations. The role involves handling materials, operating equipment, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Duties

Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements
Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring correct quantities and product integrity
Organising stock through stocking activities, maintaining organised storage areas
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and compliance checks
Conducting quality control inspections to ensure products meet company standards
Performing mechanical checks on equipment and reporting any faults or maintenance needs
Engaging in heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines
Supporting overall warehouse operations to optimise workflow efficiency

Qualifications

Proven experience in a warehouse environment or logistics setting is preferred
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
Valid forklift licence or willingness to undertake training (nice-to-have)
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment is desirable
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy warehouse setting
