Accounts Assistant

Full-Time/Part-Time | Temporary | Nuneaton

Cawthornes is a long-established, family-run business specialising in Print & Design, Workwear, Promotional Merchandise, Office Supplies and Furniture.

We are looking for an organised, reliable and confident Accounts Assistant to join our team at our Nuneaton office.

This is a varied role and would suit someone who is comfortable working with numbers, has excellent attention to detail and is highly confident using computers and accounting software.

Previous experience using Xero would be great, along with a strong overall knowledge of computers and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase and sales invoices
Maintaining accurate records within Xero
Bank reconciliations
Processing customer and supplier payments
Credit control and following up outstanding accounts
Dealing with customer and supplier account queries
Checking supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Assisting with VAT returns and general accounts administration
Maintaining accurate electronic records and filing
Producing reports and information when required
Supporting the management team with day-to-day financial administration
General office and administrative duties as required

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience using Xero would be great
Have excellent computer and IT skills
Be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Have previous experience working within an accounts or finance environment
Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Be organised and able to prioritise their own workload
Be confident working with figures and financial information
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Be comfortable speaking with customers and suppliers
Be trustworthy and understand the importance of confidentiality
Be proactive, dependable and willing to learn
Be able to work independently as well as part of a team

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team to provide cover during a period of employee absence. The position is initially temporary, with the length of the contract dependent on the ongoing requirements of the business.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
