Full job description

Role Overview

This is a part-time (starting at 2 days per week), on-site role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. Reporting to the Internal Operations Director and working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, supporting credit control activities and providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Working two days per week, you'll help ensure finance processes are completed accurately and efficiently while providing reliable administrative support across the department.

The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger

- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

- Print and match purchase invoices with delivery notes.

- Receipt invoices against purchase orders.

- Resolve invoice discrepancies by liaising with suppliers and internal departments.

Accounts Administration

- Manage the shared finance inbox, responding to queries and directing correspondence where appropriate.

- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems, both electronic and paper based.

- Provide general administrative support to the finance team.

Credit Control

- Monitor outstanding customer accounts.

- Chase overdue payments professionally and maintain accurate records of communications.

General Finance Support

- Update finance spreadsheets and internal records.

- Support month-end administration and reporting activities.

- Assist with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks.

- Follow up on missing documentation where required.

Required Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administrative role.

- Good understanding of purchase ledger and general finance processes.

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
