Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a enthusiastic cook . This role is essential in ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals while adhering to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for cooking and a strong background in kitchen operations, contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu specifications
Must be aware of special requirements in consistency of foods etc.
Ensure all food is prepared with attention to detail and presented attractively
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients
Plan and implement new menus
Complete weekly orders
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or issues
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas
Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in a nursing home preferable.
Proven experience in food preparation or cooking within a professional kitchen setting
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A team player with strong communication skills
Catering qualification essential
