Overview

Are you looking for that next step in your career?

We are seeking a dedicated and Level 3 qualified Room Leader and Nursery 3rd in Charge to join our management team and support our childcare team in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of the setting and the children while working within a supportive and professional team.

This position would suit existing Room Leaders but we would consider experienced nursery practitioners with a an ambition to progress.

Responsibilities

Assist the Nursery Management in overseeing daily operations and ensuring high standards of childcare
Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Supervise and guide nursery staff and volunteers, fostering a positive team environment
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for children and staff
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and daily routines
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance, and reporting

Requirements

Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
Experience working directly with children, ideally within a nursery environment
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative
Passionate about child development with a caring, patient demeanour
Organised, reliable, and able to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
