Full job description

Meadowbrook Care Home is a purpose-built 69-bedroom facility in Oswestry, Shropshire built to suit skilled care within an environment where residents can enjoy independent living.

As a maintenance person you will be responsible for carrying out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to ensure that the Care Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.

Job Type: Part-time 24 hours

The key responsibilities will include carrying out inspections, planned maintenance tasks, decorations and repairs to buildings and garden, fixtures, fittings, and other resources as directed.

Good working knowledge of Health and Safety working practices and compliance regulations, Basic knowledge of Computer Packages I.e., Microsoft Office

Have experience and knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating skills

Hold a full and current UK/European driving license and be prepared to have business insurance for the needs of the home.

Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks

Monitor fire safety equipment and carry out fire drills

To be responsible for the operation of a preventative planned maintenance programme and for routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings, furniture, premises and grounds to assess for minor work or repairs required to be carried out to maintain safe and satisfactory conditions

To oversee and monitor the electrical testing of portable electrical appliances and to maintain the appropriate records

Undertake regular site inspections and identify defects and record repair and maintenance requirements

Undertake cleaning duties such as graffiti removal, litter-picking

Liaise with contractors& undertake client role in connection with premises-related contracts

Ensure that pathways and all other external hard surface areas are kept clean, free of litter and weeds and that they are gritted or salted when required during wintry conditions

Job Types: Permanent, Part-time
