Customer Service Administrator – Full Time, Permanent

Peterborough | Office Based | Monday to Friday

No evenings. No shifts. No weekends.

Do you enjoy talking to people and helping them find the right solution?

General & Medical is looking for a friendly, organised and confident Customer Service Administrator to join our established team in Peterborough.

If you have experience speaking with customers over the phone – whether in insurance, a call centre, customer service or another office-based role – this could be a great next step.

You don't need to be an insurance expert. Full product and system training will be provided. What matters most is that you're comfortable talking to customers, communicate clearly and professionally, pay attention to detail and are willing to learn.

What you'll be doing

As part of our Customer Service team, you'll:

Handle customer enquiries by phone and email in a friendly and professional manner
Guide customers through treatment pathways, claims procedures and policy coverage
Review notes and reports relating to ongoing claims and liaise with our Claims Team
Maintain accurate customer records and update our internal systems
Manage your own workload and ensure enquiries are dealt with promptly
Help resolve customer concerns and escalate more complex issues when required
Support our move from manual to electronic records
Follow company procedures and relevant FCA and Data Protection requirements

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have some previous experience in insurance or in a role involving regular telephone contact with customers.

You'll also need:

A friendly, confident and professional telephone manner
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Basic confidence using Microsoft Office
The ability to manage your own workload
The ability to work well as part of a team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous insurance experience is useful, but not essential if you already have good customer service experience and are keen to learn.
