Full job description

Small Accountancy Practice – Summertown, Oxford

We are a friendly, well‑established accountancy firm with a team of 10, and we are looking for a reliable and professional Reception & Administrative Assistant to join us on a part‑time basis.

About the role

This is a front‑of‑house position involving a mix of reception duties and general administrative support. You will be the first point of contact for clients, so a confident and professional manner is essential.

Key responsibilities

Answering incoming calls and directing queries to the appropriate team member
Typing and sending emails on behalf of staff (audio typing skills useful but not essential)
Monitoring the shared inbox and distributing messages appropriately
General administrative tasks such as scanning, updating records, Companies House compliance filing, typing and franking mail, monitoring stationery and other supplies
Greeting clients and managing front‑desk activity

Hours

2–3 days per week
Wednesdays and Fridays are fixed
Additional hours may be available depending on workload
Standard hours are 9:00am – 5:30pm, but we can offer some flexibility on start/finish times

About you

Professional, friendly, and confident on the telephone
Strong written communication skills
Good attention to detail
Comfortable using email, basic IT systems, and office equipment
Reliable and able to work independently once trained
