Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roof Tiler & Slater to join our construction team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems with a focus on precision and safety. The ideal candidate will possess experience in roofing and related trades, with a strong understanding of construction principles. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality projects while developing your skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately execute roofing and slating tasks
Install roofing materials such as tiles, slates, and other coverings in accordance with project requirements
utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair work
Perform welding, fabrication, and carpentry tasks as needed to support roofing structures
Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to ensure efficient workflow
Assist with masonry, plumbing, or other related construction activities when required
Follow health and safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects whilst maintaining high standards of quality

Requirements

Proven experience in roofing, slating, or related construction trades such as masonry or carpentry
Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on scaffolding or roofs
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry
Physical fitness to undertake demanding tasks over extended periods
Relevant construction experience is essential; additional skills in plumbing or masonry are advantageous
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
