Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen operations. Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The role is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff.
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment.
Support the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock levels, including restocking as necessary.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during busy service periods when required.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or contamination.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen setting.
