Full job description

Do you have a passion for plants and gardening? We have an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about plants to join our busy Plants team at Otter Garden Centre in Whitchurch, Bristol.

Responsibilities:

You will be primarily responsible for the plants area in the garden centre, this will include:

Plant care: watering, and maintaining good plant health with the plants in your area.
Stock control: replenishment of plants, stock ordering and stock rotation.
Merchandising: ensure plants are displayed in line with corporate standards.
Customer service: provide high levels of customer service to include helping customers with plant related enquiries, and carrying or transporting customer purchases to their cars when required.
Other duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will have excellent horticultural knowledge and ideally previous experience of working within a gardening sector. You will have a genuine passion for plants. A horticultural qualification would be advantageous. Unfortunately we will not be able to consider applicants who do not have plants / horticultural knowledge.
Experience of working in retail and customer service is desirable.
You will have a customer focused attitude, be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Training can be provided for operating the tills and the plant ordering system, although previous experience would be advantageous.

This role may involve heavy lifting, and working outdoors.

Otter Garden Centres is a leading independent garden centre with five branches across the South of England. We pride ourselves on our wide range of quality home-grown plants, and the excellent customer service standards provided in our garden centres.
