Location: Hillington Park; Glasgow, Scotland
Contract: Full time, Permanent – Thursday to Monday - Thursday - Sunday 7.5 hours, Monday 7 hours (37 hours)

About the role:
As a Laboratory Technician at AB Agri, you will be an essential part of our busy laboratory team based at the Hillington site near Glasgow.
Your role will focus on the accurate and efficient processing of a high volume of samples, with the first six months dedicated to sample reception, registration, and preparation.
Following this initial period, you will receive comprehensive training to develop your skills in various testing areas, including PCR and disease testing, with the goal of becoming fully proficient across the lab over time.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work consistently in a fast-paced, repetitive environment, and a commitment to following standard operating procedures.
What you'll be doing:
- Receive, open, and register a high volume of laboratory samples daily, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Perform repetitive, routine tasks with precision, maintaining consistency and attention to detail in sample handling.
- Participate in comprehensive training over the first six months to develop skills in various laboratory testing areas, including PCR and disease testing.
- Follow standard operating procedures and quality standards to maintain laboratory compliance and ensure reliable test results.
- Work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment, adapting to peak periods of increased sample volume during seasonal spikes.
- Support ongoing laboratory operations by maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas and equipment.
What we're looking for:
- Ability to work accurately and consistently in a fast-paced, repetitive laboratory environment, with a strong focus on sample handling and registration.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through comprehensive on-the-job training across various laboratory testing areas over time.
- Comfortable following standard operating procedures and maintaining exacting standards of quality and safety.
- Good teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sample processing and data recording.
- Basic computer skills to manage sample registration and laboratory documentation efficiently.
