We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative / Team Leader to join our growing team and help maintain exceptional outdoor spaces across a variety of sites. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who takes pride in creating and maintaining high-quality landscapes while motivating and supporting a team to deliver outstanding results.

The Role
As a key member of the team, you will oversee and carry out a wide range of landscaping, horticultural, and grounds maintenance activities, ensuring our sites remain safe, attractive, and professionally maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of grounds and landscape maintenance, including mowing, planting, pruning, turf care, and seasonal upkeep
- Operate machinery and specialist equipment such as excavators, irrigation systems, and power tools safely and effectively
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure reliability and performance
- Lead and support a team of grounds staff, allocating daily tasks and maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Assist with outdoor construction and site improvement projects
- Use a variety of hand tools and horticultural equipment for detailed landscaping tasks
- Promote and maintain excellent health & safety standards across all sites
- Manage and maintain irrigation systems to support efficient water usage
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members on equipment use and best practices
What We’re Looking For?
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or gardening
- Strong practical knowledge of machinery, power tools, irrigation systems, and outdoor equipment
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Good understanding of outdoor construction or site development work
- Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise workloads efficiently
- Relevant qualifications in horticulture, landscaping, or construction are advantageous but not essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- All potential candidates must be able to obtain a suitable DBS check. Arborcure will undertake all DBS checks as part of the onboarding process
