We have an exciting opportunity to join the Oncology Outpatients team.

This role requires the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within the wider multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for organising and supporting the smooth running of clinics, providing high-quality care and support to patients and their families or carers throughout their cancer treatment and care.

The role includes maintaining patient safety, monitoring patients' wellbeing during treatment, identifying and escalating concerns appropriately, and ensuring a safe, compassionate, and patient-centred environment at all times.

We provide a friendly and professional working environment. Good verbal and written communication skills and previous demonstrable experience in a health care setting is desirable. This is a busy and dynamic clinical area with excellent learning opportunities.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

To carry out a range of clinical duties with minimal / no direct supervision.

Participate in patient assessment providing high quality holistic patient care and escalating concerns about patients to other clinical staff.

Lead by example and supervise/support junior members of staff to improve and maintain high standards of care.

Implements clinical care packages through a range of delegated clinical care duties relevant to the area of service.

Support the safe and effective day-to-day running of the Oncology Outpatients Department.

Organise clinic room allocations and ensure clinical areas are prepared and equipped for patient appointments.

Assist in coordinating and facilitating the smooth running of outpatient clinics, responding proactively to changing service demands.

Provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families or carers throughout their treatment and care.

Undertake clinical observations and monitoring as delegated, promptly recognising and escalating any concerns regarding patient wellbeing.

Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in accordance with infection prevention, health and safety, and local policies.

Ensure equipment is available, maintained, and ready for use, reporting any faults or concerns appropriately.

Assist the multidisciplinary team with clinical and administrative duties to support efficient patient flow.

Promote patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.

Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care.

Contribute to stock management, ordering, and replenishment of clinical supplies as required.

Support the ongoing maintenance and organisation of the unit to ensure a safe and efficient service is delivered.
