Full job description

We are looking for experienced and flexible part-time/full-time Senior Health Care assistants to lead the shift, train, mentor and guide new and existing care staff in delivering excellence in care.

The post holder will be required to cove night shifts at Restgarth Care Home in Polperro. We specialise in providing care and treatment for people with both physical problems and psychological needs. We are a small, privately run Residential Home and are proud of our skilled team.

Core responsibilities

To assist with the management of the team to ensure that appropriate individual care is received by each resident by coordinating and planning the shift duties for both the care team and yourself.

To support residents to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance whilst being aware of clinical conditions and their individual right to privacy and personal preference.

To carry out regular supervision of care assistants.

To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home with due regard to robust infection control procedures. To make a thorough and correct report of all accidents.

To monitor and record and report residents’ conditions to the Manager and Care Lead

Read and complete electronic health records and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care given to residents.

Attend and participate in staff meetings.

We offer training, uniform and DBS check. Hours can cover days, nights, evenings and weekends.
