Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a confident, friendly and organised New Business Facilitator to join our busy Conveyancing Department in Portsmouth.

This is a varied, client-facing role and you will often be one of the first people a prospective client speaks to when contacting the firm. You'll be responsible for handling new enquiries, preparing conveyancing quotations and helping clients through the initial stages before their matter is passed to one of our fee earners.

You do not need previous legal or conveyancing experience. Full training will be provided. We would particularly welcome applications from people with experience in customer service, sales, estate agency, call centres, retail or another busy client-facing environment.

The role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Responding to new conveyancing enquiries by telephone and email
Speaking with prospective clients and understanding their requirements
Preparing and sending conveyancing quotations
Following up enquiries and helping turn enquiries into new instructions
Sending new client information and initial paperwork
Opening new matters and allocating them to the appropriate fee earner
Keeping accurate records of enquiries, quotations and new instructions
Using our case management system
Liaising with solicitors and other members of the Conveyancing team
Managing and prioritising a busy and changing workload
Providing reception cover when required

About you

We're looking for someone who:

Is confident and personable on the telephone
Has excellent communication and customer service skills
Enjoys speaking with people and building rapport
Is organised and able to manage several priorities at once
Has good attention to detail
Is comfortable working in a busy environment
Has a professional, friendly and approachable manner
Is confident using email and computer systems
Is proactive and happy to take ownership of enquiries
Works well as part of a team

Previous experience in sales, estate agency, customer service, call centres, retail or professional services would be particularly relevant.

Previous legal or conveyancing experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided.

Andrew & Andrew Solicitors is an established law firm with offices in Portsmouth, Emsworth and Wickham. We provide a range of legal services and pride ourselves on providing a professional and approachable service to our clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong people skills who is looking to bring their experience into a professional office environment and develop within a busy legal practice.

Work Location: In person (office only - no hybrid)
Working hours: 8.30am to 5pm (1 hour for lunch)

Pay: £27,000.00 per year
