Front Desk Receptionist (Part-Time)

Oxford Instruments – Materials Analysis

Location: High Wycombe, Cressex (on-site)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 12:15

(with occasional Friday and holiday cover)

Our Materials Analysis business plays a vital role in advancing technologies across electronics, clean energy, healthcare, and beyond.

We’re now looking for a warm, organised and proactive Front Desk Receptionist to be the face of our site—someone who thrives on creating a fantastic first impression and enjoys bringing structure and energy to a busy workplace.

About the Role

This is far more than a traditional reception role. You will be at the heart of the office—welcoming visitors, supporting colleagues, and helping to deliver a seamless, professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

From coordinating travel to supporting site-wide events, you’ll play a key part in keeping everything running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering a first-class welcome to all visitors, clients and partners
Coordinating travel arrangements, including taxis and hotel bookings
Supporting the planning and delivery of internal events such as summer parties, Christmas celebrations and conferences
Providing general administrative and office support
Maintaining a professional, organised and inviting reception area

You’ll also provide occasional afternoon cover for the reception desk during annual leave periods, so flexibility is key.
