Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable, dedicated, versatile and experienced Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative.

The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, operating forklifts, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management.

The successful candidate will be an organised individual with a proactive attitude, capable of working safely to consistently high standards.

The applicant should consider themselves punctual, hardworking, loyal and a flexible team player.

Duties

Proficient and safe operation of forklifts safely to move, load, and unload materials within warehouse and yard settings
Assist with manual handling of mats to undertake QA checks
Assist with manual handling of mats to undertake cleaning
Assist with stock level checks and record keeping
Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper stacking, storage, and organisation of goods.
Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking
Optimise space utilisation within the warehouse and yard
Support with checks and maintenance / minor repairs of equipment as required
Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during daily operations
Assist in general warehouse duties to support overall operational efficiency
Basic maths and English skills required for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations
Support warehouse organisation by maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Conduct regular safety inspections and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions
Experience / Skills
Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse / yard setting required
Ability to perform heavy manual handling lifting safely and efficiently
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Previous experience in a warehouse / yard environment is highly desirable
Familiarity with materials handling, stock management, and logistics processes
Basic Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment maintenance checks and troubleshooting
Experience in shipping & receiving operations is preferred
