Senior/ Principal Acoustician
Location: Offices - Bury
Salary: £55,000+ per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior/ Principal Acoustician to join our growing team with a view to taking on Directorship and shareholding in our acoustic practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a Chartered MIOA Acoustician to lead a variety of acoustic consultancy projects across sectors including environmental noise, building acoustics, transportation, infrastructure, and planning.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical work, managing client relationships, mentoring 3No. acousticians, and contributing to the strategic growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage acoustic consultancy projects from inception through to completion.
Undertake and oversee noise and vibration assessments in accordance with relevant standards and guidance.
Prepare and review technical reports, environmental statements, and planning submissions.
Provide expert acoustic advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and tender submissions.
Mentor and support acousticians and contribute to team development. For this reason we would need the candidate to be office based, not remote.
Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and professional forums.

Requirements

Chartered Acoustician status (e.g., Member of the Institute of Acoustics or equivalent professional body).
Degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Significant experience within acoustic consultancy.
Strong technical knowledge of environmental noise, vibration, and/or building acoustics.
Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
Proven project management and client-facing experience.
Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
