Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Out of Hours Cremator Operator to join our team. This role involves operating cremation equipment during non-standard hours to ensure smooth and respectful management of cremation processes. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the dignity and efficiency of our services, working primarily during evenings, nights, or weekends as required. Heavy lifting may be involved, and a professional attitude towards sensitive responsibilities is essential.

Duties

Operate cremation equipment safely and efficiently during designated out-of-hours periods
Ensure all procedures are carried out in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies
Monitor the cremation process from start to finish, maintaining respectful conduct at all times
Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
Record detailed logs of each cremation process, adhering to strict confidentiality and accuracy standards
Assist with cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas following each operation
Respond promptly to any technical issues or emergencies that may arise during shifts
Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Experience

Previous experience working with heavy lifting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
Experience in a sensitive environment or handling delicate procedures is advantageous
Ability to work independently during out-of-hours shifts with minimal supervision
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations
A respectful attitude towards clients and colleagues is crucial given the nature of the role
