Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Chef to join our culinary team. This role involves assisting in the preparation of recipes, sub-recipes and dishes, ensuring that all food safety standards are met, and supporting the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist in preparing ingredients for daily service, including chopping, peeling, portioning, making dough, and other key components to our menu
Support the cooking team by organising mise en place and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the prep station in accordance with food safety standards
Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in meal presentation
Help with inventory management by organising stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
Support the broader kitchen team during busy periods, including basic food preparation tasks and plating assistance
Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to health and safety regulations

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments
Food Hygiene Level 2
Allergen Awareness Level 2

Enthusiasm for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills
