Full job description

Petcover Group is an international insurance firm with offices across the UK, EU, Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for an HR Officer to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract commencing in September 2026. This role will oversee our HR operations across all employees and geographies.

Responsibilities and Activities

HR Operations

Maintain and update employee records, HR systems and digital filing to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial audits and data protection legislation.
Prepare HR documentation including contracts, offer letters, onboarding packs and employment change.
Manage HR-related emails, responding to routine queries and escalating issues where required.
Track key employment milestones such as probation reviews, anniversaries and contract end dates.
Support the communication of HR policies, procedures and updates.
Provide administrative support for employee relations processes and escalate where necessary.
Liaise with regional leaders and functional heads to ensure necessary HR operations are completed in a timely manner and compliantly with local legislation.

Onboarding & Offboarding

Own all global onboarding and offboarding processes.
Manage all pre-employment checks such as right-to-work, references and background screening.
Ensure accurate completion of all onboarding documentation including employment contracts.
Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure correct system access and equipment is provided to all employees.
Liaise with the L&D team to ensure that employees are enrolled in the necessary company trainings.

Talent Acquisition

Coordinate recruitment administration including drafting job adverts, posting roles and managing candidate pipelines.
Conduct initial CV screening and shortlisting candidates against role requirements.
Schedule interviews and liaise with hiring managers to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
Support hiring managers with conducting interviews where necessary.
Support hiring managers with recruitment timelines, documentation and process guidance.
Contribute to a positive candidate experience through timely communication and professional coordination.

Required Skills

Experience in an HR administrative or HR coordination role
Strong understanding of recruitment processes, experience in a talent acquisition role or similar recruitment coordination position is essential.
Knowledge of employer job boards such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor etc.
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident using HRIS and ATS systems.
Knowledge of employment legislation in at least one of the following regions is essential: UK, Australia, New Zealand, the EU. Knowledge of more than one region is desirable.
Proactive in researching unfamiliar topics, interpreting guidance and finding accurate information to resolve queries independently.
Impeccable attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with senior-level stakeholders.
Discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive situations confidentially with care and empathy.
A formal HR qualification is not required for this role if you have experience within the HR/Talent acquisition industry however level 3 CIPD or working towards is beneficial.
