Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical expertise and be capable of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motorised equipment and vehicles. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, technical proficiency, and excellent customer service are essential. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring all machinery operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Duties

Diagnosing faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
Repairing and maintaining engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components
Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble and assemble parts
Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and inspections
Welding and fabricating parts as needed for repairs or modifications
Conducting equipment repair and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
Assisting with heavy lifting of parts or machinery during repairs or installations
Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Providing excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly

Experience

Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role in a workshop environment
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components across various vehicle types
Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and manuals
Hands-on experience with assembly, disassembly, and repair of mechanical parts
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments
Knowledge of maintenance procedures for different types of machinery or vehicles
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair tasks
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Customer service experience is advantageous for liaising with clients regarding repairs
