Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager

Location: South Birmingham

Salary: £56,000–£65,000 per year + Company Allowance

About Us

WeConstructUK Ltd is a fast-growing contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance and capital works across the Midlands.

Working with local authorities and Tier 1 contractors, we deliver kitchen and bathroom replacements, wet rooms, electrical works, void refurbishments and planned maintenance programmes.

Following the award of new contracts and continued business growth, we're looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to help build and lead our commercial function.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business where you'll work directly with the directors and play a key role in shaping the company's future.

The Role

Reporting directly to the directors, you'll take ownership of the company's commercial activities, supporting both pre-contract and post-contract functions.

Initially, you'll manage pricing, estimating, commercial reporting and cost control, before helping develop and lead a growing commercial department as the business expands.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a senior role with genuine responsibility and long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing tenders and negotiated works
Preparing estimates and cost plans
Producing monthly CVRs and commercial reports
Managing applications for payment
Valuing and agreeing variations
Final accounts
Procuring subcontractors and suppliers
Cost forecasting and margin analysis
Supporting operational teams with commercial advice
Developing commercial systems and reporting procedures
Working closely with the directors to support business growth

About You

Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience
Experience within social housing, refurbishment or planned maintenance
Excellent commercial awareness
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Experience producing CVRs and commercial reports
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Commercial Manager experience is desirable but not essential.
