Full job description

At Blossom Tree Montessori, we are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen! We have grown across the 4 years we have been open and now cook for around 112 children each day. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and hard working. This is a permanent role, working Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm We are based in Northwood Hills, next to a beautiful farm. We are around a 7 minute walk from Northwood Hills Station and there is a bus stop right outside the nursery.

Our Head Chef Becky has been a professional chef for over 30 years and she is very passionate about providing healthy and tasty food for our children. As a nursery, one of our main priorities is to ensure the children have a nutritious diet and Becky has designed our menus so we are providing high quality, balanced meals. Becky also has extensive experience in cooking for children with allergens and is very skilled in managing this on a day to day basis. Through the preparation of the children's meals it allows us to encourage, feed their curiosity, and nurture their growth by trying new foods.

Responsibilities and Duties

Support the Head Chef and Assistant Chef to manage the kitchen.
Prepping the food for the children.
Being aware of allergies and intolerance's when preparing food.
Maintain and have awareness of the hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring the daily and weekly cleaning duties are complete.
Follow procedures relating to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health). Ensure cleaning materials are stored safely and records are kept up to date.
At least 1 years experience working within a catering environment with knowledge of food hygiene standards and allergens (Essential)
Hard-working, good time management skills and can work well as a team.
Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate (Essential)

We take safeguarding very seriously and a current and clean Disclosure Barring Services (DBS) Certificate is essential.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
