Full job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking either 1 x40 hour or 2 x 20 hour cooks to share the role and join our catering team. The ideal candidate/s will be responsible for creating high-quality dishes, managing front of house staff, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.The Cook/s reports to the General Manager, but will receive information and guidance from the Office Administrator, this role requires excellent organisational skills, leadership abilities to focus FoH staff, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook high-quality food for customers
Lead and supervise catering staff, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the proper storage of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including adherence to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
Train and mentor junior staff.
Monitor food preparation techniques to ensure consistency and quality.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or food service environment.
In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A creative and innovative approach to menu planning.
Relevant culinary certification or degree (preferred but not always required).
Level 3 food hygiene
HACCP L2

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift heavy objects (e.g., boxes of ingredients).
Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment.

Working pattern:

3-5 days a week, planned with other staff to ensure cover at the weekends and at other times when the club is particularly busy. Normal weekends will require a senior catering member of staff to be on duty, some low season weekends may require basic staff, evenings are required.
