About Building Ventilation Solutions (BVS)

Building Ventilation Solutions Ltd is a fast-growing, family-run HVAC engineering company specialising in air handling unit (AHU) refurbishment, ventilation upgrades, controls work, and bespoke AHU manufacture across the UK. We operate across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, leisure, retail, commercial, and industrial environments.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, practically minded individual to join our growing team as a Junior Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys hands-on work, is eager to learn, and wants to build a long-term career in building services engineering. Full training and mentoring will be provided from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Attend sites alongside senior engineers to carry out diagnostic work and identify system issues
Assist with fan retrofits, AHU refurbishments, and system upgrades
Produce clear and accurate site reports
Safely use power tools for removal and installation of systems, under supervision
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site rules, risk assessments, and company procedures
Assist with unwiring of existing AHU system components and wiring of new components
Keep working areas safe, tidy, and presentable
Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams
Travel to sites across the UK (occasional overnight stays required)

What We're Looking For

Up to 1 year’s experience in a mechanical, electrical, engineering, or trades environment, or a relevant qualification / apprenticeship
Practical, hands-on mindset with a common-sense approach
Good understanding of electrical systems and basic safe working practices
Willingness to learn and take direction
Good understanding of maths, physics, and English
Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong communication skills, with confidence speaking to clients on site
Self-motivated, organised, and reliable
Meets physical requirements: stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting 50 lbs. or more
Full UK driving licence (essential)

Desirable (Not Essential)

Experience working on-site in building services, HVAC, or a related field
Awareness of ventilation systems or air handling units
Engineering qualification, trade school diploma, or apprenticeship background
