Full job description

We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Buyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with office or administrative experience who is looking to develop a career in purchasing within a busy and supportive environment.

Previous purchasing experience is not essential. We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills and communication skills, a positive approach to work and an interest in developing within a successful business.

This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to build your purchasing knowledge and develop your career over the long term.

Key Responsibilities:

Raise, process and track purchase orders, escalating delays or issues where appropriate.
Support supplier negotiations and agreements while building and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
Work closely with design and production teams to ensure deadlines are met.
Resolve supplier quality or service issues in a timely and professional manner.
Respond promptly to telephone and email enquiries, providing a high standard of service.
Provide general administrative support within a busy purchasing office.

Desirable Candidate Profile:

Experience in an office-based, administrative or customer support environment.
Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills.
Able to work collaboratively and use initiative when working independently.
Able to manage priorities effectively in a busy environment.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage but is not essential.
