Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our small kitchen team in our county pub! The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen alongside the Head Chef/ Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food, leadership, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining food safety standards and fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
Prepare a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, presentation standards, and customer preferences
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in line with health regulations
Assist in menu planning, including weekly special.
Provide training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing kitchen teams
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene and sanitation
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills to effectively lead and motivate team members
Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or similar roles is highly desirable
