Full job description

Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at the Compass Café at Tiso Outdoor Experience in Perth. You will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary team in meal preparation and in the dishwash area, ensuring a smooth operation in the kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a desire to gain experience in the culinary industry.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Help with meal assembly and plating under the guidance of the culinary team
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling of ingredients
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- Dispose of trash and recycling properly
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Follow daily cleaning schedules for close down at end of day
- Any other reasonable duties, as required

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices is beneficial
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and follow instructions accurately

Hours: 20 hours a week working 4 days out of 7 on a rota basis which will include some weekend working. This is a day shift role only, no evening shifts required!

Pay dependent on age. If you are over 21 it is £12.75 per hour.
