Position: Banksmen & Slingers (Ad-Hoc Basis) Port of Aberdeen

We are currently seeking Banksmen & Slingers to join our experienced quayside operations team. This is an ad-hoc role, ideal for individuals seeking flexible, on-demand work with opportunities for overtime and enhanced pay rates for out-of-hours shifts.

Sea-Cargo Aberdeen Ltd is a trusted provider of stevedoring, shipping, and logistics support services, operating from a modern, integrated facility within the Port of Aberdeen.

With extensive industry experience and a full suite of services, we deliver tailored solutions to meet the demands of port operations—24 hours a day, seven days a week. From vessel handling and cargo management to complete port logistics, Sea-Cargo Aberdeen offers a reliable, efficient, and customer-focused approach to support all requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Perform slinging and banksman duties on the quayside and within cargo holds
Ensure loads are correctly and safely slung prior to lifting
Follow vessel foreman instructions at all times
Promote and maintain safe working practices
Inspect lifting equipment visually during operations and report any damage immediately

Required Qualifications & Skills

Valid Slinger / Banksman certification
Prior experience in port operations and working alongside cranes
Strong understanding of lifting and slinging operations
Excellent communication skills and high reliability
RTITB Forklift certification (desirable but not essential)

Medical check is part of the recruitment process
