Full job description

Salary: Up to £29,000 DOE

Hours: Full Time | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm

moira" is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run business in Galashiels with an outstanding reputation for customer service.

My client is looking for a friendly, professional Receptionist to become the first point of contact for customers visiting the showroom.

This is much more than answering the telephone. You'll be the face of the business, welcoming customers, building relationships and helping create the high standard of service the company is known for.

The Role

As Receptionist, you'll play a key role in ensuring every customer receives a warm, professional welcome while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the showroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

Greeting customers and visitors with a friendly and professional approach.
Answering and directing telephone calls.
Managing customer enquiries and directing them to the appropriate department.
Booking appointments and making reminder calls.
Processing incoming and outgoing post.
Ordering stationery and office supplies.
Arranging accommodation for staff attending training.
Maintaining a tidy, welcoming reception area.
Providing general administrative support to the wider team.
Helping ensure the showroom runs efficiently each day.

About You

My client is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and understands the importance of making a great first impression.

Ideally, you'll have:

Previous experience working in a receptionist or front-of-house role.
A warm, friendly and professional manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience handling a busy telephone switchboard.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
The ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure.
A proactive approach and willingness to support colleagues.
