The hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week, term time only (39 working weeks during the school year, plus 2 weeks worked periodically during summer holidays). This is a fixed term contract, awaiting term length but expected to be between 1–3 years.

About Changing Lives through Changing Minds
Changing Lives through Changing Minds are continuing to grow and are now looking to recruit a Therapeutic Child & Family Worker to join their team supporting Alternative Provision and Individual/Family Support Work across North Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
Established in 2017, Changing Lives through Changing Minds is a Community Interest Company (CIC) based at Manor Farm in Coleby, North Lincolnshire. Their holistic and relationship-led approach supports children, young people and families with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
The role
This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding role where no two days look the same.
This is a complex and emotionally demanding role, but also one that offers the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of children, young people and families.
We understand that candidates may come from a range of professional backgrounds. You may currently work within family support, youth work, SEND support, pastoral support, social care, mental health services, therapeutic support, counselling or other child-focused environments.
What matters most is your ability to build trusted relationships, work compassionately within complex situations and support positive outcomes for young people and families.
The role involves supporting children, young people, families and education providers to help remove barriers to learning, improve relationships and support positive outcomes both within education and at home.
The role includes working closely with schools, families and multi-agency professionals to provide therapeutic and practical support for children and young people.
This may include:
- Delivering support within school settings
- Supporting SEND and EHCP related processes
- Working collaboratively with SENDCOs, safeguarding leads, social workers and other professionals
- Delivering training and guidance to education staff
- Supporting families within home and community environments
- Writing professional reports, assessments and recommendations
A typical week may include:
- Supporting children and young people through 1:1 and group sessions
- Working closely with families within home and community settings
- Supporting schools and education providers
- Completing assessments and professional reports
- Managing your own caseload
- Travelling across the Scunthorpe and Doncaster areas
- Working collaboratively within multi-agency environments
This role would suit someone who is emotionally resilient, grounded, adaptable and confident building trusted relationships across a wide range of settings, including with children, families, schools and professionals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrable experience working within family and school systems
- Have experience supporting children, young people and families
- Be knowledgeable in trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practice, including supporting children and young people with SEND and additional needs
- Be confident working independently and managing their own workload
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable completing assessments, record keeping and professional reports
- Be able to travel regularly as part of the role
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle
