We provide bespoke event production including luxury mandaps, staging, floral installations, centrepieces, furniture hire, lighting, draping, dance floors, bars and complete venue transformations.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations and ensure every event is executed to the highest possible standard.
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operational side of the business from the point a booking is confirmed through to successful delivery and collection.
This role combines logistics, warehouse management, event planning, team leadership and quality control. You will ensure every event leaves the warehouse correctly prepared, is installed to the highest standard and is dismantled safely and efficiently.
You will be expected to solve problems proactively, improve operational systems and maintain the premium standards Ann Events Hire Ltd is known for.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Logistics
- Manage multiple weddings and events simultaneously.
- Produce detailed operational plans for every event.
- Allocate staff and vehicles.
- Schedule loading, deliveries, installations and collections.
- Ensure every event has sufficient equipment, labour and transport.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers and external contractors.
- Attend planning meetings where required.
- Anticipate operational risks before they arise.
Warehouse Management
- Oversee all warehouse operations.
- Ensure equipment is correctly prepared before every event.
- Maintain excellent stock organisation.
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Ensure damaged equipment is repaired or replaced promptly.
- Improve warehouse efficiency and workflows.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the warehouse.
- Implement and maintain stock control procedures.
Team Leadership
- Manage warehouse staff, drivers and event crews.
- Produce weekly staff schedules.
- Allocate teams appropriately across multiple events.
- Train new employees.
- Monitor staff performance.
- Conduct regular team briefings.
- Promote a positive and professional working culture.
- Deal with staffing issues promptly and fairly.
Event Delivery
- Ensure every event is delivered to AEH's luxury standards.
- Carry out quality checks before equipment leaves the warehouse.
- Attend larger installations where required.
- Ensure installations are completed safely and on time.
- Resolve on-site operational issues.
- Maintain excellent relationships with venues and suppliers.
- Ensure smooth handovers between setup and dismantle teams.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all operations comply with Health & Safety legislation.
- Carry out risk assessments where required.
- Ensure lifting procedures are followed.
- Ensure equipment is transported safely.
- Monitor vehicle safety.
- Ensure warehouse safety standards are maintained.
- Promote safe working practices at all times.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Improve operational systems and processes.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify efficiencies to reduce labour costs.
- Improve loading systems.
- Improve warehouse layout.
- Improve event turnaround times.
- Help implement new technology and operational software.
- Produce reports on operational performance.
Customer Experience
- Ensure clients receive exceptional service throughout the operational process.
- Work alongside the sales team to deliver client expectations.
- Resolve operational issues professionally.
- Maintain the company's reputation for luxury service and reliability.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in event operations, logistics or warehouse management.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong leadership experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure.
- Confident decision maker.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred:
- Wedding or luxury events experience.
- Experience managing temporary staff.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of staging, draping, lighting or event production.
- Forklift licence (desirable).

Working Hours
Due to the nature of the events industry, flexibility is essential.
The role will involve:
- Weekday warehouse management.
- Evening planning where required.
- Weekend weddings.

- Busy seasonal periods.
Time off in lieu may be provided where appropriate.
