Overview

Join us as a Freelance Vehicle Inspector, working on a self-employed basis to deliver professional pre-purchase vehicle inspections. In this flexible role, you'll carry out thorough inspections, identify mechanical and cosmetic issues, and provide detailed reports that help customers make informed buying decisions. This is a pay-per-inspection position, with earnings ranging from £45–£90 per completed inspection, depending on the inspection package. Enjoy the flexibility of choosing your availability while making a real impact in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive visual and mechanical inspections of vehicles, including engines, brakes, tires, lights, and other critical components
Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform diagnostic checks and minor repairs if necessary
Assess vehicle safety features and ensure compliance with local transportation regulations
Document inspection findings accurately through detailed reports and digital records
Identify potential issues requiring further maintenance or repair and communicate findings clearly to clients or fleet managers
Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move or position vehicles or parts during inspections
Maintain inspection equipment and ensure all tools are calibrated and in good working condition

Qualifications

Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of vehicle systems and components
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for inspection tasks
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently during inspection processes
Previous experience in vehicle inspection, automotive repair, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
Excellent attention to detail with strong observational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing your schedule effectively
Must be able to do inspection on either London, Manchester or Birmingham
