Manager of Property Management Department Bowson | Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne

Are you an experienced Property Manager ready to lead a department, grow a high-quality portfolio, and make a real commercial impact?

Bowson is a successful, well-established estate agency in the heart of Jesmond. We’re looking for an ambitious, hands-on Manager to take full ownership of our Property Management Department.

This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys developing people, and is driven to deliver outstanding results for landlords, tenants and the business.

The role

You will be responsible for:

Retain and grow a high-quality managed property portfolio by working closely with the sales and lettings teams
Maximise portfolio performance through optimised rent levels, high occupancy rates, and efficient maintenance
Oversee rent collection, tenant invoicing, and timely landlord payments, ensuring accurate financial administration
Manage the department’s P&L, monitoring income, expenditure, and overall profitability
Run a profitable property maintenance operation
Promote and expand ancillary services to increase revenue and client value
Continuously improve and streamline the property management service
Achieve and maintain 5-star customer reviews through exceptional service delivery
Lead and develop the Property Management team by delegating effectively, monitoring performance via the CRM dashboard, and upholding high standards in inventories, inspections, compliance, contractor management, repairs, and upgrades
Review individual progress, identify training needs, and support team development
Manage customer complaints professionally and promptly
Oversee recruitment, holiday cover, and day-to-day team organisation
Ensure full Health & Safety compliance across all properties and operations
Collate and analyse departmental statistics (including financial KPIs) to drive performance
Hold regular weekly meetings with the Property Management team

Who we’re looking for

Proven property management experience (essential)
Ideally 5+ years in estate agency
Clean full UK driving licence and use of a car
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
A professional, well-presented individual who is ambitious, conscientious and customer-focused
Someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service and hitting commercial targets

What we offer

Attractive package of £42,000 – £52,000 on-target earnings
Commission, performance and quarterly bonuses
Full-time permanent position (minimum 37.5 hours per week)
Monday–Friday working with occasional weekend availability
