Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and personable Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting with medication dispensing, and supporting pharmacy operations to ensure smooth daily functioning. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in patient care. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional healthcare environment, contributing positively to community health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their pharmacy needs
Dispense over-the-counter medications and support prescription processing under supervision
Provide information on medication usage, side effects, and storage instructions
Maintain accurate records of transactions and medication stock levels
Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management
Ensure the pharmacy area remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
Assist patients with basic enquiries related to medication administration and general health advice within scope of practice
Support patient care initiatives by providing empathetic assistance and ensuring confidentiality at all times

Experience

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar healthcare role is highly desirable
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
Experience working directly with patients or customers in a healthcare setting is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly demeanour
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare and committed to delivering outstanding service within a community pharmacy environment.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
