Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a dynamic hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing food production, ensuring food safety standards, and leading a team of kitchen staff. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong culinary and leadership skills to contribute to a high-quality dining experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene practices and allergen controls, in compliance with health regulations
Organise and monitor inventory levels, ensuring the timely ordering of supplies and ingredients
Assist in training new team members and providing ongoing coaching to develop skills and efficiency
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any faults or repairs needed
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Enforce health and safety policies within the kitchen environment

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant setting
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent team management and leadership abilities, capable of motivating staff under pressure
Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in food presentation and culinary arts, with a passion for quality cuisine
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is highly desirable
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles within a hospitality context

Pay: £16.00 per hour
