Senior Business Development Officer

Location: Office-Based

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:00 (32.5 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

As we continue to grow and expand our services, we are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Senior Business Development Officer to support our business development activities, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines business development, customer relationship management, project delivery, and administrative support. You will work closely with approved centres, employers, training providers, and internal teams to ensure the effective promotion and development of ProQual's qualifications and services.

The successful candidate will be proactive, professional, and highly organised, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of ProQual's business development and growth objectives.
Build and maintain positive relationships with approved centres, employers, and stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to promote additional ProQual services and qualifications through existing centre relationships.
Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new centres and business partners.
Co-ordinate meetings, events, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Conduct market and sector research to identify opportunities for growth and qualification development.
Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and business documentation to support strategic decision making.
Maintain accurate records using company databases and company bespoke systems.
Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities for service improvement.
Co-ordinate and analyse stakeholder satisfaction surveys, produce reports and recommendations for improvement.
Provide administrative support to business development initiatives and projects.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
Promote ProQual qualifications and services through professional engagement with customers and stakeholders.

Person Specification

Essential

Previous experience in a business support, administration, customer service, business development, or project delivery.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong telephone manner.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
Professional and customer-focused approach.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Desirable

Experience within the education, skills, training, apprenticeship, or awarding organisation sector.
Knowledge of qualifications and assessment processes.
Understanding of the qualifications regulatory environment.
Experience supporting commercial growth or stakeholder engagement activities.
