Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Food Preparation Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This role involves supporting the preparation and presentation of meals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and experience in catering or restaurant settings, with a keen eye for detail and organisation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable kitchen experience.

Duties

Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to specified recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by following instructions from head chefs or kitchen managers
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during preparation and handling of ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, utensils, and equipment
Help with portioning, plating, and garnishing dishes for service
Support the team in managing stock levels and replenishing supplies as needed
Assist with serving food to customers or guests when required
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn new skills within a professional kitchen setting

Pay: £12.71-£13.71 per hour
