Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth operation that meets high standards of hygiene and efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service industry, particularly in a busy restaurant or hotel environment. The role involves supporting chefs and kitchen staff by managing cleaning duties and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.

Responsibilities

Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients as directed by the kitchen team
Cleaning dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards
Ensuring all work surfaces, floors, and storage areas are kept clean and organised
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Supporting the kitchen team during service periods to ensure smooth operations
Restocking supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure continuous workflow
Adhering to all health and safety policies within the kitchen environment

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or culinary activities is advantageous
Experience in serving or hospitality roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service standards
No formal qualifications are required; however, a keen interest in food service and hospitality is preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
