Business Development Manager – Field-Based Sales (New Business)

Location: Wisbech and Wyboston

Territory-Based | Company Car Provided | Full-Time
Salary: £40,000 + Uncapped Commission Scheme

With over 40 years of experience, Walkers Transport is one of the UK’s leading transport solutions providers, moving more than 1.2 million pallets annually. Founded in 1979, we offer comprehensive palletised freight delivery across the UK, Ireland, and Europe through our logistics hubs.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join our growing field-based sales team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in winning new business within a designated territory while developing strong, lasting relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, appointment setting, referrals, and presentations
Forecast monthly sales activities and revenue
Build and maintain long-term relationships with new customers
Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets
Manage and maintain accurate records on our CRM system
Research potential customers and follow up on leads
Attend client meetings, sales events, and training sessions
Provide regular reporting and feedback using financial data
Plan and manage your diary to maximise efficiency and performance
Grow and manage your client database within the assigned territory

What We’re Looking For

A talented, ambitious, and motivated sales professional
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Determined to succeed and meet both personal and company targets
Proven track record in B2B sales (internal or field-based)
Experience in logistics or palletised freight
