Job Title: Quality, Care & Wellbeing Lead

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, subject to a 3-month probation period

We are looking for a caring, confident and approachable Quality, Care & Wellbeing Lead to join our team and help drive high standards across the service.

This role would suit someone who genuinely cares about people, enjoys supporting a team, and takes real pride in seeing residents receive the best possible care. We are looking for someone who understands that good care is not just about meeting basic needs — it is about helping people live happy, meaningful and fulfilling lives.

We are creating this role because we understand that general support hours can sometimes blend into daily shifts and routines. We want to recruit someone who can see beyond the hours on the care floor and help ensure every day has purpose, meaning and positive outcomes for the people we support.

The right person will lead by example, bring out the best in staff, and help create a positive, safe and homely environment where residents are supported to feel valued, respected and confident.

You will take responsibility for leading the care team, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure staff are supported, standards are not only maintained but exceeded wherever possible, and residents receive safe, professional and person-centred care every day.

About the Role

As Quality, Care & Wellbeing Lead, you will be responsible for the care team. Provide structure & guidance to the day. Support and lead the care team during shifts, making sure residents’ needs are met and staff feel confident in their roles.

You will be involved in care delivery, medication, documentation, audits, staff support and communication with families and professionals. A big part of the role is helping the team work well together, encouraging good practice, and making sure standards are consistent across the service. To be the heart of the team alongside our registered manager.

Just as importantly, you will help ensure residents are supported to live full and active lives. This includes encouraging independence, supporting personal goals, promoting wellbeing, and making sure residents are given opportunities to enjoy meaningful experiences.

We want residents to feel good about themselves, take pride in their appearance, enjoy their home life, access the community, maintain relationships and achieve things that matter to them. This may include supporting residents with holidays, day trips, hairdresser appointments, shopping for new clothes, personal care routines, hobbies, activities and individual goals.

This is a hands-on role, so we are looking for someone who is happy to work on the care floor while also taking responsibility for quality, compliance, staff support and resident wellbeing.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your role will include:

Leading and supporting care staff during shifts.
Helping staff feel confident, valued and clear in what is expected of them.
Promoting a caring, respectful and positive atmosphere for residents and staff.
Supporting the Registered Manager with quality checks, audits and service improvements.
Making sure care plans, risk assessments and daily notes are accurate and up to date.
Ensuring residents receive safe, person-centred care based on their individual needs, choices and goals.
Supporting residents to live happy, fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Ensuring daily support has purpose, meaning and positive outcomes for residents.
Encouraging residents to remain as independent, active and involved as possible.
Supporting residents with personal goals, social activities, holidays, outings and community access.
Helping residents take pride in their appearance, including support with clothing, grooming, hair appointments and personal care routines.
Encouraging staff to think beyond basic care tasks and focus on residents’ confidence, wellbeing and quality of life.
Supporting medication administration, recording, ordering and safe management.
Liaising with GPs, families, health professionals, social workers and other agencies when needed.
Supporting new staff with induction, training and competency checks.
Helping maintain good communication and clear handovers between shifts.
Reporting concerns, incidents or risks promptly and appropriately.
Supporting infection control, health and safety, safeguarding and dignity in care.
Acting as a positive role model for the team.

Previous senior care experience would be beneficial, especially if you have experience with medication, care planning, audits, supervision or supporting staff.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right values — someone who genuinely wants residents to have the best possible life and who can inspire the team to deliver care with pride, warmth and consistency.

Safeguarding, Health & Safety and Confidentiality

You will be expected to follow all company policies and procedures, including safeguarding, medication, health and safety, infection control, confidentiality and data protection.

Training and support will be provided where needed, but we are looking for someone who understands the importance of doing things properly and taking responsibility for high standards.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position of 39 hours per week, made up of:

36 hours on the care floor
3 hours surrounding a sleep-in shift
