Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of Vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. The candidate is to have the ability to work on Clutches, Timing Chains and Belts, Engines and Gearboxes and all other vehicle repair or replacement requirements. It will be preffered if the candidate can do Engine and Gearbox Re-Builds. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the efficiency and safety of our operations.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate
Perform repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems such as Clutches, Engine Timing Chain & Belt, Gearboxes, Starter Motors, Alternators and more!
Troubleshoot mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken
Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimise downtime
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment as required
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all timesQualifications
Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics accurately
Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnostics and repairs
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Valid driving licence preferred but not essential
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
