Director of Learning – Alternative Provision in Hassocks
West Sussex

Start: September
Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Pay: L18–L20
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm (term time only)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Learning to join an Alternative Provision setting in Hassocks. This is a key leadership role, focused on supporting students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead on the quality of teaching, learning, and curriculum delivery
Support and develop teaching and support staff
Oversee student progress, attainment, and outcomes
Implement effective behaviour and engagement strategies
Work closely with senior leadership, external agencies, and parents
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Proven leadership experience within education
Strong understanding of SEMH and alternative provision settings
Experience supporting staff development and improving outcomes
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A calm, resilient, and proactive approach
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
