Credit Controller

Location: Birmingham, B37 7HE (office-based role)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 08:30-17:00, and Friday, 08:00-16:30 (there may be flexibility on this depending on the role/team) with 30 minutes unpaid daily break.
Salary: £28,000.00 per annum

Job Summary

We are a growing and ambitious global company looking for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team.

Are you a confident communicator with a keen attention to detail. We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Credit Controller to support our Finance team by managing customer accounts, coordinating outstanding debts, and supporting effective debt recovery.

Principal Accountabilities

Proactively managing your own ledger, making sure bad debt is kept to a minimum.
Setting up new accounts
Resolving queries in a timely manner, ensuring customers pay to agreed payment terms.
Building strong working relationships across the business with sales, account management and operations to make sure any customer issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
Daily cash allocation
Making commercial decisions to help the business and mitigate any risk.
Process invoices

Qualifications (preferred)

ACIM or similar

Technical Competencies

Proven experience in a credit control / accounts receivable role
Commercial acumen, with a strong focus on profitability
Experience managing customer accounts and building relationships
Confident dealing with difficult or sensitive conversations regarding payment
Time management, organisation, prioritisation and coordination skills
Advanced Excel skills
Stakeholder management skills
