Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team for 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. (Early shift 8.00-16.30pm, late shift 10.15am-18.45pm)

The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations within the practice and enhancing the patient experience. On the job training will be provided as needed.

Duties

Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries effectively.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations.
Process new patient registrations and update existing patient information as necessary.
Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient flow and manage any scheduling conflicts.
Ensure the reception area is organised, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety standards.

Skills

Strong administrative skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficient in office software applications, including word processing and spreadsheet management.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism.
Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage but not essential.
A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all interactions.
