Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Swansea, Wales

Salary: Competitive

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in-office)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner - Wales, the Management Accountant is responsible for successfully completing the month end process and providing timely, accurate and high-quality management accounts and management information.

Support the organisation to better understand financial performance by providing insightful reporting and analysis.

Your Responsibilities

To take responsibility for the month end process providing timely, accurate and high-quality financial reporting . To include, but not limited to:

Ensure all P&Ls, balance sheet and all supporting management information are completed on a timely, accurate basis .
Monitor and report on financial performance, including variance analysis .
Ensure accuracy of revenue by checking billed sales, calculate accrued and deferred income and reconciling revenue to central fees database .
Ensure there is a thorough and robust review process for the P&L, the balance sheet, supporting balance sheet records and supporting management information .
Process payroll recharges, accruals and holiday pay accruals as part of the month end reporting process .
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts for net wages, PAYE and pension control accounts .
Ensure all intercompany balances are reconciled between the Wales entity and the wider group .
Ensure all month end tasks are completed on a timely and accurate basis, including prepayments and accruals and ensuring all intercompany recharges are posted and intercompany is reconciled .
Track, accrue and reconcile void charges for Supported Living homes .
Ensure utility recharges are complete and paid by the People We Support .
Track, accrue and reconcile rent charges for all homes .
Maintain the bed statistics reconciliation .
Fixed assets register including additions, disposals, depreciation, and FRS102 lease accounting .
To play a key role in the year end and external audit processes . Responding to any queries on timely basis .
Ensure there are appropriate financial controls in place around the management a ccounts process including full reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts at month end .
Provide and further develop weekly reporting and analysis to the organisation on key financial performance indicators as required .
Provide ad hoc support and analysis to enable stakeholders to better understand financial performance .
To play a key role in the budget process, ensuring an accurate and high-quality budget is produced within the agreed timelines and to then support any subsequent re-forecasts .

To ensure the team support the deliverables of the broader finance team where needed, this could include, but not limited to:

Supporting services and other internal stakeholders on financial matters as needed .
Working with shared services teams to support in resolution of any issues impacting month end deadlines or that are particularly complex .

The Main Skills and Experience for This Role

Essential

Numerate and detail focused .
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work .
Able to work both independently and as part of a team, including with colleagues based remotely .
Able to prioritise own work and work under pressure to meet deadlines .
Flexible, adaptable, and proactive .
Experience of working in a multi-site organisation .
Substantial experience of working in a management accounts-based role .
Qualified accountant or Finalist (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), or QB E .
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills .

Desirable

Experience of working in a healthcare organisation or a similar industry
Experience using Oracle NetSuite
Budgeting and variance analysis experience
Experience supporting audits and year end processes
Experience in FRS102 lease accounting
